With planned giving, you can provide long-lasting support for Juniata College while enjoying financial benefits for yourself.
Unrestricted - An unrestricted bequest allows the College to designate your gift according to need; it provides flexibility in meeting the changing needs and challenges of Juniata's future. An unrestricted bequest may be worded as follows:
"I give and bequeath to Juniata College of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania [Federal Tax ID: 23-1352652], an educational institution established under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, ___________ percent (_____%) of my residuary estate." (Or, "The sum of ____________ dollars ($_______).")
Restricted - A restricted bequest is used by the testator to designate a particular program to receive funding, such as scholarships, departments, faculty development, arts and lectureships or capitalized annual giving. [Note: establishing named endowments requires meeting certain minimum contribution amounts.] The following language may be used as an example:
"I give and bequeath to Juniata College of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania [Federal Tax ID: 23-1352652], an educational corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the sum of ____________ dollars ($________), to be used by the Chemistry Department."
